Data Wipe and Erase Instructions

Step-by-step instructions on how to remove accounts and erase data from your cell phone can be found below.

We try our best to keep these instructions up to date, however, if your make or model of cell phone is not listed or you have any other questions please contact us, we are happy to help.

How To Remove Accounts

Android: Remove your Google Account
iPhone: Turn off Find My iPhone
Other Models of Phones
Android: Remove your Google Account
  1. Find and open the device’s Settings app.
  2. Tap Accounts. If you don’t see “Accounts,” tap Users & accounts.
  3. Tap the account you want to remove – select Remove account.
  4. You may be asked to enter the device’s pattern, PIN, or password for security.

Note: Settings can vary by device but will follow similar instructions.

iPhone: Turn off Find My iPhone

On newer iPhone software (iOS 10.3 and newer)

  1. Locate and select the Settings icon on your iPhone.
  2. Tap [your name] at the top of the Settings Menu.
  3. Scroll down and tap Sign Out.
  4. Enter your Apple ID password and tap Turn Off.

On older iPhone software (iOS 10.2 or earlier)

  1. Locate and select the Settings icon on your iPhone.
  2. Select iCloud from the settings menu.
  3. Scroll down to Find My iPhone and tap the slider to Turn Off.
  4. If prompted, enter your Apple ID password.

Please Note: If you have already reset your device, Find My iPhone is turned off.

Other Models of Phones

On most other models of phones, accounts will automatically be removed when Erasing Data as instructed below.

  1. Find and open the device’s Settings app.
  2. Select Backup and Reset. If Backup and Reset is not an option, you may need to first select General Management.
  3. Choose Factory Data Reset.

Note: Settings can vary by make/model but will follow similar instructions.

iPhone
  1. Locate and select the Settings icon on your iPhone.
  2. Find & select General.
  3. Scroll down and tap Reset.
  4. Select Erase All Content & Settings.
  5. If prompted, enter your Apple ID password.
Other Models

Steps to perform a Factory Reset / Restore will vary by make and model.  If the steps provided do not match your phone, please feel free to contact us with your phone’s model and we will do our best to provide you with customized instructions.

Windows Phone: From the main menu select Settings > System > About > Reset Your Phone.

BlackBerry: From the main menu select Options > Security Options > Security Wipe.

Flip Phones / Non-Smartphones: Menu > Settings > Phone Settings > Security > Enter the Code > Restore Phone > Yes > OK
(the code typically defaults to the last 4 digits of the phone number, 0000, or 1234).
